International Standard ISO 17100:2015 Translation Services – Requirements for Translation
Services is an internationally recognised standard for the provision of translation services. It was
introduced to meet the market demand for a universally accepted benchmark.
I recently obtained ISO 17100:2015 Qualified status from the Irish Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association.
This means that I meet the requirements of the standard in relation to qualifications, experience, continuing professional development (CPD) and the professional competences ‚translation competence, linguistic and textual competence in the source language and the target language, competence in research, information acquisition, and processing, cultural competence, technical competence and domain competence‘.
